The town of Burns, Harney, Or. was named after the poet Rob't Burns. The earliest settlers to Burns Or. were of Scottish descent. My ggrandparents were one of 4 families who named the town. They were Rob't Jackson McKinnon Sr. and Emily Harriet Long McKinnon. They came to Oregon via the Oregon trail from Indiana.
