Brian, when I attended the Burnette reunion at the castle a couple of years ago I brought back the latest family history book The Horn and The Holly. I am unable to find any of your names in this book. However, I can tell you when Burnettes came to America. Your family is probably in one of those lines. My line was John Burnett who came to Virginia. He married inOld Rappahannock Co., Va. and had children John b. 1660, Thomas, Sarah, Phebe, Unknown Dau. and Charles. They migrated to N.C.

Another line was Thomas born abt. 1570, went to Cambridge U. His children were Thomas born 1612. His children were Lot who married 1675 in Suffolk, Long Island. Joel, Lois, Pricilla, John born 1645 Southampton, N.Y., Hester, Aaron, Southampton, L.I. NY, Miriam, Dan, Mordecai, Matthias who had 2 children born in Braintree, Essex, Gilbert, duncan, John, Janet, Margaret and Elizabeth.

If you are sure you trace back to the original Burnette's you probably are in one of these two lines. There may have been other Burnett's from this line here, or Burnetts here that were not descendants of the Burnett of Leys Family.
Hope this helps.
Barbara
