I have a James Burnett who gave a Ann (Nancy) Bates 238 acres in Caroline CO.,VA in 1780's. When she died the land was after 1848 sold by several Bates kids. Robert Bates b 1795 teacher died in PR Wm.,VA, Thomas Beverley Bates d 1883 Hanover, Elizabeth Bates Robinson, wife of Gabriel who married in Caroline, Ann Dillard, widow of Madison, Fannie Bates who married Keeling Rowe Caroline. Also Nancy Brumley Martin who called her Aunt. Nancy Brumley Martin had a brother Wm Brumley 1770-75- d. 1845 New Kent who was overseer for Geo W. Parke Custis at Whitehouse, Old and Lower Qt in New Kent and Romancoke in KW. He married Mary Taylor daughter of George Taylor d. 1801-02 Caroline. Wm Brumley called Ann Bates his Aunt. The Brumley kids mother was a Elizabeth (?) Brumley d 1823-24 Caroline. A Fannie Sanderson or Saunderson also lived near Ann Bates and Elizabeth Brumley. It looks like they maybe sisters. Are they Burnett girls. A James Burnett died before 1815 and owned land in KQ. His widow was a Elizabeth Davis, daughter of Jn Davis & Elizabeth Richeson of KQ. Elizabeth Davis m1st Rice Fawcett or Faucett of Essex who died 1795. It this the James Burnett who gave Ann Bates land as a gift??
Thanks for any HELP.
Alecia
