Johnny Proffitt Burnard, 79, TN, obituary
Johnny Proffitt Burnard, 79, of Knoxville, TN, passed away
August 28, 2009, from an extended illness.
He served during the Korean War in the U.S. Army from 1950-
1953. Later he retired from TVA as an operating engineer
and was a member of the International Union of Operating
Engineers Local 917. He was a music lover playing a
variety of instruments of blue grass mountain music.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; his daughter, Terry and
her husband Garry Lewis; and his son, Chris and grandson
Jeremy; his sisters, Effie Collins, Unieve Phillips, and
Bertina Proffitt; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 4 p.m.to 7 p.m., Sunday,
at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville, TN.
Funeral service will be at 7 p.m., Sunday, August 30,
2009, in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev.
Sam Loy officiating.
Family and friends will meet 11 a.m., Monday, August 31,
2009, in Webb's Creek Cemetery for graveside service and
interment.
