Seeking connection of Laura C. POWERS [1819-1906] to CT [Connecticut] families of BURLINGHAM and GRINNELL [see below]. She married Jacob GOUGE, Jr. [1814-1883] of Trenton, Oneida, NY, and they had 2 children: Fred H. GOUGE and Addie GOUGE.

Mr. Frederick H. Gouge, the architect, was born in Trenton, N.Y., May 5, 1845, son of Jacob Gouge, a farmer. The farm on which his grandfather, also named Jacob Gouge, settled at Trenton in 1796 is still retained by the family. His mother, Laura (Powers) Gouge, was a descendant of the Burlingame and Grinnell families of Connecticut. <excerpt>

~Laura C. POWERS GOUGE, wife of Jacob GOUGE, Jan. 3, 1819-Jan. 15, 1906. [She was my maternal 3 great grand aunt via marriage].
