Though this message is old I feel the need to respond to it. You say that Mary Livingstone, not Mary Lippitt, was Roger Burlingame's second wife as has been recorded. I think your information about Mary Barlingstone is correct but incomplete. I am reading from the Burlingame Genealogy as I write this, and I quote:
"Roger married secondly, Warwick, R.I. Oct. 3, 1663 Mrs. Mary (Lippitt) Barlingstone, born Providence Plantations, Mar. 3, 1643 died Mashantatack (Cranston), R.I. July 5, 1718, age 75 yrs. -4 mos. -2 das., daughter of John and Martha (.......) Lippitt and widow of William Barlingstone, whom she had married Mar. 23, 1661. He drowned while fishing in the Bay, about six weeks after marriage."
This explanation seems to tie together some conflicting information. I hope it's useful.
