Nancy A. Burleyson - who her real parents are
There is a researcher on this family name who has posted wrong information, and he has not yet corrected that account.
His handle says that his name is Richard Grimes. I would like to refer him to the fellow researcher on this line who has the correct information: Sharon.
Please see her posts here and realize that you are in error by omission of the generation of Nancy A. Burleyson's parents, and you have counted her grandparents, Jonathan and Permelia Burleyson as her parents by mistake.
Her father was the son of Jonathan and Permelia: David Derrick Burleyson, born 1837 in Anson County, North Carolina. The family traveled to Tennessee about 1855-1859 and are found in Hardin County in the 1860 census. That same census of Hardin shows Benjamin Burleyson with his new wife and child, Nancy A. Burleyson. I realize that the spellings are different on different records, but anyone with this name in Hardin County between 1857-1870 is a relative of Jonathan and Permelia and or one of their children.
If anyone has doubts about the veracity, then please let him research both the marriage records of Hardin County Tennessee and also please see the 1860 federal census for that county, which lists Nancy A. Burleyson as being an infant, with David Burleyson and Sarah Owens as her parents.
David abandoned this family after the Civil War, and Sarah is found in 1870 with her mother, her brother, and her younger sister Letitia. In May of 1876 she married William A. Hodge.
Jonathan and Permelia Burleyson are the paternal grandparents of Nancy A. Burleyson, and they are not her parents.
