Edith (Tommi Ireland) Burleson Obit
PITTSFORD — Edith (Tommi Ireland) Burleson, age 79, of Pittsford, died Saturday, April 12, 2008, at her home in Pittsford. She was born June 9, 1928, in Adrian to Earl M. and Cordia Lee (Pate) Soncrant. On August 2, 1947, she married Elmer Ireland, Jr. and he preceded her in death in 1971. On September 23, 1978, she married Martin (Bud) Burleson and he preceded her in death on December 13, 2006.
Tommi is survived by her seven daughters, Pam (Dennis) Smoke of Hudson, Pat Gonzalez of Jacksonville, Fla., Barb (Beverley Faulk) Ireland of Indianapolis, Ind., Linda (David) Grant of Sterling, Va., Denise (Jim Supples) Ireland of Winston Salem, N.C., Becky (Chuck) Moore of Warren, Ohio, and Lisa (David) McKee of Lisbon, Ohio; five sons, Raymond Ireland of Adrian, Terry Ireland of Muskegon, Jeff (Arlene) Ireland of Concord, N.C., Richard (Julie) Burleson of Pittsford, and David (Pam) Burleson of Pittsford; son-in-law, James (Peggy) Taylor of Adrian; one brother, Lee (Darlene) Soncrant of Grand Haven, Mich.; 26 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; and a treasured friend, Linda Barsdale of Pittsford. In addition to her two husbands, Tommi was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sandee Taylor; two sisters, Jean Dillon and Shirley Soncrant; and one granddaughter, Melissa Stiverson.
Funeral services for Tommi will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the Liberty Bible Church in Pittsford with Pastor Samuel Wickard officiating. Burial will be in Church’s Corners Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral home in Adrian.
