Hi Mark,
Many thanks for the e-mail.As far as my Annie Burkill goes she married my granfather, Frederick Scott at Sutton on the Forest, North Yorkshire Parish Church on 20th February 1895.Her father, John Burkill is given on the Marriage certificate as Farmer. She was a wonderful woman, although as a child I was quite frightened of her and my grandfather, they appeared so old.She produced 8 children, 4 boys and 4 girls I am told by my Aunt Rachel, (who I may say will be 90 years young on 12 January next, my father being her youngest child.Unfortunately my father died in 1970 of cancer. She herself died (I have the certificate, age 91 of basically old age and Fred her husband died 8 days after her age 97.As the Register of BDM at North Yorkshire put it, "They obviously couldn't live without each other.
The only info I have on her father to present is, (assuming it is the correct John Burkill, I have obviously gleaned from some records (probably St. Catherines or the IGI, (must learn to make a note of where, but one gets very excited when things fall into place)),
John Burkill, Born/Bapt. 10 May 1823, Swinefleet he was a Shoemaker and a Farmer and he died on 25 June 1908.As and when I get more I will let you know.I do have probs. with her mother, I think John may have been married twice.....
and there no doubt lies another story.
Looking forward to hearing soon.
P.S.Where do you live?I live in York, North Yorkshire, England.
