Family went to family in the old days. Possible the BURIANs that came thru later, as thru Ellis Island www.ellisislandrecords.org could be somehow related to your ancestor.
You might want to look into Leo Baca's 9 volumes Bohemians to America.

Have you followed up on the childrens baptismal records? If he married in US, his state marriage application might mention a precise region if not a village he was born in.
How about the maiden name of his wife? Sometimes that is a clue.
