Hi, Pat.

I should have said Burgoon descendants, not Burgoons "proper." I was referring to my own case, my parents having settled in the Monterey, CA area in the early 1960s. Dad's grandmother was Mary Burgoon (Jacques>Robert>Jacob). Though I don't personally know anyone bearing the Burgoon surname out here, I'd be willing to bet that a phone-book search would reveal some ... I believe some ended up down South, around LA.

Good to know about John's descendants. I thought that many had remained in PA, but I'd had little confirmation until your note. Thanks, too, for the info on those families remaining Roman Catholic. I'm gradually getting together a picture of that side of things, and hope to have something to report soon.
