Settled near Williamson, WV in 1800

Henry Burgett settled in Long Branch KY along the Tug River in 1800. There are still 400 acres in the estate, and some 20 heirs at present. I have a copy of the family will dating back to 1800, but it was re-written from memory a few times due to courthouse fires. In researching the libraries in Virginia I find ship registries of Burgetts arriving from the Kingdom of Bavaria up till the mid-1800s. Of course the designs of the Hollenzollern family clashed with individual kingdoms in the Germanic lands, and there were mysterious deaths abounding until Germany was united under the Czars. There remains a Burgetts Bourough in Lancaster, PA that you can see on a map of the city. Yes, many of us are of Pennsylvania Deutch ancestry. Hope to find whether the homestead was given as a veteran's bonus for service in the Revolution when I can. I suspect the Burgett surname may be gone from Deutchland, as is the case with many other European families. However, I am proud to see so many races and ethnic groups with the Burgett surname. It reflects our great National character. There you have a glimpse of your Kelson Blue my fellow Burgetts. (Kelson is the center keel of a ship and Kelson Blue is a term coined in Early American literature).
