Jo:
What is the source of your information that your ancestor, Jehoiakim BURGETT [b. 1799] m. Catherine Anne Sarissa PATTERSON [b. 1810]?
The 'History of Ashtabula Co. Ohio,' published by Williams Brothers, Philadelphia, 1878 indicates [cf. p. 229] that Jehoiakim BURGET and Sarissa PATTERSON were the first couple m. in Trumbull Twp., Ashtabula Co., OH ca. 1821. Ashtabula Co. County Court records indicate 1826.
Based on other references in this book, I believe that Sarissa PATTERSON was the second wife of a Jehoiakim BURGET, Jr. [b. 1785, NY], who was one of the first of four BURGET siblings who migrated from Smithville, Chenango Co., NY to Harpersfield, Ashtabula Co., OH along with his niece, Hannah DODGE [a dau. of Judith BURGET and Josiah DODGE], and her husband, David BRAINARD, Sr. between 1813-1820. Jehoiakim B., Jr. was a son of Revolutionary War soldier, Jehoiakim BURGET, Sr. and Sarah WHITE.
Also, Jehoiakim BURGET, a son of William BURGET, Sr., m. Elizabeth GLAZIER in Ashtabula Co., OH.
There is certainly plenty of room for confusion!
