Hello, there is no Richard Burgess listed in Sandwich, MA. This area was first founded by a group that left Duxbury, MA in 1637 and settled here - the first Burgess family was Thomas and Dorothy Burgess, whose sons were Thomas, John, Jacob and Joseph. They had a daughter Elizabeth who married Ezra Perry.
The only Burgess to leave this area was the first son of Thomas, named Thomas. The only son I have documented by him is also a son named Thomas.
