Hi,
Your subject says Elizabeth BURGESS wife of Wm. BARTON, but the text says wife of Wm. BURGESS. I assume the subject is correct and you are looking for a wife of William BARTON?
I am a descendant of William BARTON. He was first in St. Mary's Co., but late in Charles Co., MD.

There were three generations of William BARTONs. The name of the wife of the first William (born ca. 1605) is unknown. The second William (who is the one sometimes listed as Captain) was born ca. 1634 and had two marriages. The first was to Ann SMOOT, and the second to Mary -?-.
I had never heard of claims that either William BARTON married an Elizabeth BURGESS. I just looked on WorldConnect, and see a few people listing the elder as having married Elizabeth BURGESS on 27 June 1634 at Thornbury,, Gloucestershire, England. In looking at the IGI, this is listed as the marriage of William BARTON to Agnes TAYER/THAYER.
In either case, I am not aware of any evidence that this William married in 1634 in Gloucestershire is the William BARTON of Maryland. I have also never seen a record in MD that gives even the first name of William's wife.
