Do you know which of the Burgess families he belonged to? There are 7 seperate Burgess trees in Tasmania (one of which I am descended); seven in NSW; 5 in Victoria; 3-4 in South Australia and at least two in Queensland and another two in West Australia. I have two James Burgess listed in my tree (James Henry Burgess 1846) the son from the marriage of Richard Burgess (1796, Maresfield, Sussex, England)to his second wife, and another born in 1920. BUT -- I have not finished my tree and your James may be part of my family (I was going to say my tree, but I have 2 other Burgess lines marrying into my tree -- an Irish born Burgess marrying into the McIntyre family which in turn married into my tree, and my nephew married one of the NSW Burgess lines). A number of people in my family tree have moved interstate and overseas, so it is hard to work out. Notify Administrator about this message?
