Sena Barnes Burgess, 1860 Sevier Co., AR
I am looking for information about Sena Barnes, born about 1822 in Tennessee. She was the daughter of Loftin and Mary "Polly" Barnes, who were first found in Wilson Co. and Madison Co., TN, and possibly Feliciana Parish, LA.Sena (given as Sinai in the records) married Lenoir or Lenone Cunningham in Yalobusha Co., MS, in the 1830s, and this couple lived next door to Loftin Barnes in Claiborne Parish, LA, in the 1840 census. In 1850 these families were in Titus Co., TX.Sena and Lenone/Lenoir Cunningham (he was born about 1819 in TN) lived next door to her parents and had children:William, 12, Mary, 10; David or Davis, 8; Sarah, 7; Martha, 6; Alexander, 4; and Lem, 1. William, Sarah, and Martha were born in Arkansas; Mary and David/Davis were born in Louisiana; and Alexander and Lem were born in Texas. The 1860 Sevier Co., AR, census shows Sena as Cena Burgess, not Cunningham, living next door to her parents without a husband, with children:William, 21; Elizabeth, 20; David, 18; Sarah, 17; Martha, 16; Alexander, 14; Leander, 12; and Lofty, 11.All the children were listed as being born in Arkansas.I've been trying to find out more about the ancestry of Sena's parents and hope that someone may have more information about her and her family's ancestry.
