Hi Patricia,

Sorry I didn't catch your entry until now. I have been researching other lines of the Burgee family. I have information on your Jason Burgee. He was born abt. 1809, age 41, as listed in the 1850 U.S. Census report of MD. He was employed as a "carpenter.", and was living with a Thomas Burgee and Ezekiel Burgee, both also employed as "carpenters." They were living in Howard District, Anne Arundel Co., MD. Perhaps these three were brothers, but somehow related since they were living together.

I have a record that shows a Jason Burgee married to Jane Neilson on October 30, 1828. (Ref. Church Records, MD and DE, 1600's-1800's, Methodist Records of Baltimore City, MD, Vol. 1, Marriages of First Methodist Episcopal Church in Baltimore Town, 1799-1829, Family Tree Maker, CD 178, Broderbund Software Inc., Sept. 25, 1999).

I don't know whether the Jason Burgee in para. one above is the same as the Jason Burgee in para. two above, but I believe they probably are.

I have another record showing a Jason Burge married to a Matilda Graham at Howard Co., on April 7, 1842. It is not known if this is the same Jason Burgee as in the previous two paragraphs, perhaps married two times.

I have no direct ties of these Jason Burgee's to my own Burgee line starting with Thomas Burgee, Sr. (c.1726-1831), but I continue to research a possible connection. I hope this gives you some additional information that you might be looking for.

Sincerely, Bruce Geibel
