This information is of the William BURFORD who was married to Anne BURFOOTE, and who came to Virginia abt. 1637. There is also an Elijah Hastings BURFORD b. 9 February, 1682 in BURFORD, Oxfordshire, England. Elijah is said to have came to have immigrated to the Amherst Co. VA on 3 August, 1713. Elijah died 31 January, 1771. He married Mary Jane HASTINGS, they had a son Daniel James BURFORD, b. May 4, 1729.
However, I believe you are looking for the descendants of William BURFORD, the principles of which are as follows:
William BURFORD, b. in England, immgrated to Virginia in 1637, md. Anne BURFOOTE, d. 3 October, 1656 in Charles City, VA. (Note: Only one child is attributed to William and Anne)
William BURFORD, b. in England, married (?) MILES. (Note: Only one child is attributed to William and (?) MILES).
Daniel BURFORD (Elder), b. abt. 1684 in VA. d. abt 1756 in King William Co., VA. He married Sarah MILES. (Note: The term Elder seems to be from his position in the church).
*Daniel and Sarah had son William b. 1733 md. Grissell Clement(s).
Daniel BURFORD Sr., b. 20 May, 1714 in Gloucester, Co., VA. d. 2 July, 1787 in Amherst Co. VA. He married Mary TAYLOR abt. 1731.
Daniel Ambrose BURFORD, b. abt. 1737 in King William Co. VA. d. 21 October, 1811 in Amherst Co. VA. He married Sarah (?) on 1 October, 1758.
There are a number of children born to the Burfords identified above, but I just came down the direct line naming the Daniel Burfords, in succession.
I noted you have a response from a Mr. Keyes. Years ago (abt 1973), while at Norfolk,VA. I was browsing the Library there and found old will information of a (I believe), William Burford leaving land to a widow Keyes?
