Jesse Burditt and Mildred Crain were married about 1810. They migrated to Texas in late 1833, while it was part of Mexico. They lived the remaineder of their lives in Texas, and are buried in Austin, TX. They had eleven children, nine of which lived to maturity.

Ambrose Crain married Mary Burditt, Jesse's sister, and they migrated to Texas in 1834. Ambrose Crain's father was Joel Crain. Joel named one son Giles Burditt Crain. There was a Giles Burditt who lived in SC and TN who may have been the one the son was named for. Although, it may have been an earlier Giles Burditt.

Ambrose and Mary named one son Joel Burditt Crain, and if you will google that name, you find some interesting facts about him. He was the Sgt Major to General Sam Houston in the battle of San Jacinto.
