William G. B. Rainey/Raney, born in Bedford Co., Tenn 1826-27.
Some researchers theorize that the middle initials G. B. could stand for Giles Burdette/Burditt.
He served in the Union Army from Aug. 11, 1862-Nov. 27, 1862.
He was discharged because he had Pneumonia and was subject to Epileptic Seizures. He died in Jefferson Co., Ill. 1863.
Does anyone know of a Rainey boy who was born ca 1826-27 in Bedford Co., Tenn and was afflicted with Epileptic Seizures?
Speculation is that his father may have been a William Rainey who married a Burditt/Burdette/Burdett girl, possibly a daughter of Giles Burdette/Burditt/Burdett and they gave their son the name of William G. B. Rainey/Raney.
