I have some documents that state the name Burdick is a variation of its original spelling of Burdette. Other English variations are Bruditt and Burdett. There was an early immigrant that is my ancestor Robert Burdick. They have traced the name of Burdick-Burdette-Burditt back at least to 1223. I have some information, if you would be interested, let me know.
