Humphrey made will in Henry co 1784, probated Oct 1794 Franklin co. I have map of the area of his property on Pittsy/Franklin co line. Bedford & Henry co also close. Altho tax list listed 7 whites, he left his estate to Thompkins B Sr. I know that he had other sons, Richard & Stephen. Why did he not include them? The English gave everything to oldest son. Perhaps he had come from England? I think your Humphrey was probably another son. Each little piece of the puzzle adds a bit to the total so we will keep digging.
