I am also researching this Burdett family. My ancestor was Humphrey who lived in Caroline, Franklin and Pittsylvania co VA. He made a will in 1784 and died in 1794 so could not have been the one who died in GA in 1819. I believe he was either the father or brother of William and Jarvis Burdett who witnessed many of his land transfers. I am trying to verify his service in the Elk Creek militia in 1782. Would be happy to share info.
