Donna,

So good to find a Va-Burdett researcher. I hope you can help. I too have worked gene for about 35 years (since high school). I am now semi-retired college history teacher in Texas.

I come from GGG Humphrey Burdett, b. ca 1780 probably in Henry Co., VA. His father is a proved Humphrey Burdett, d. 1819 no will but deeds in Wilkes Co., GA. I have felt old Humphrey might have been son of William Burdett who appears in the 1750s Orders in Caroline County. In fact, I once found a deed or land grant (around Henry Co.) perhaps for a brother (I thought) of oldest Humphrey that SAID they had gone inland from Caroline County. It was enough by following the land that I "suspected it." Can you help? I would enjoy a compare and share with you re Burdett in VA. Have you noticed there are not many Burdetts? I would have thought there would be many. Hope to contact.
