Eva: Thank you for the info re books in Lawrence County and Carter County libraries. My part of the family moved from the Virginia/Kentucky area to Iowa and then to California in the early 40's. I have live in the San Francisco Bay area for over 35 years. I hope to travel to the VA/KY area some day after I retire, but for now that isn't possible.

Could you briefly summarize the info you refer to? I would be grateful for any info on the Huguenot connection and any info on the predesessors of Burwell Burchett (b 1740/45, d. 1779) and where Burwell was born (Scotland? England? Virginia?).
