I am looking for information about slaves and descendants of slaves of Birchett plantation owners. It was the custom, in those days for freed slaves to take the names of the plantations from which they came. I am particularly interested in whether there are any records of purchases of Africans, in order to continue my search for the link with African -- the particular country and/or tribe.
