Since I wrote to you last, I received an e-mail from a Max Keller (emoss@erols.com) who says that Edward Birchett and Ann Birchett, in 1713, Prince George County, Virginia gave four slaves (Hanna, Bess and two children) to James Thweat in exchange for care. Then I received antoher e-mail which said that Elizabeth Thweatt married Edward Birchett in Prince George County. In various deeds, also listed on the Internet, and in various court cases, it appears that land and slaves were exchanged between Edward Birchett, a person by the last name of BAtts, and Thweatt. You can access some of this through the various search machines on Yahoo. Happy Hunting. If you run across any information about this, or about the descendants of the slaves of the Birchett, Thweat or Batt line, please let me know. I am at cbirchett@yahoo.com
