In response to Max Burchett: My mother is a Burchett and we are also descended from Burwell Burchett and Mary Fannin. I am told Burwell's father's name was John and that he was born about 1720. However, I have not been able to trace him. Burwell's family resided in Virginia and I have quite a bit of information on my line. It has been suggested by another Burchett researcher that to go back further than Burwell we need to research the French name Bouchet. She has located a Jean Bouchet in Jamestown, VA. I have also heard claims of the family coming to America from England in the late 1500's or early 1600's. Any help would be appreciated.
