I don't think I can help you (but I may be able to fill in some gaps!).

I am new to tracing my family tree and have already come up against a stumbling block.

I am trying to trace the possibly unmarried mother of my great grandfather, William Mark Burchett b.6/7/1868 who married Harriet Pratt b. 1/4/1864. The family came from Bodle Street near Hurstmonceux in East Sussex. William's mother's name may have been Polly Burchett and the father's surname may have been Ticehurst.

Can you help in any way?
