Don, we may be related. My father, Walter Burchett, was born in Hurstmonceaux, Sussex, in January 1890. His parents were John and Caroline (Hayward) Burchett and I believe William John was his older brother. John Burchett was killed when my father was an infant (falling off a brewer's wagon, as the family story goes) and Caroline remarried one Percy King. Walter worked for a time at Hurstmonceaux Castle, then emigrated to Canada around 1910 or so and later married Margaret Burgess, also of that area of Sussex. Does any of this sound familiar to you?
