Hi,

Here is what I have. I have done a lot of work on the Burchett military tradition, and have still to compile a lot that people have sent me. My line has Burchetts serving in every war that America has fought in (with the possible exceptions of Grenada, Panama and the Gulf). I am currently an Army officer. It seems that the Burchetts in my line of descent seemed to be predominantly infantry, with a mix of cavalry for spice.

As for religion, the Burchetts of my line ( coming from Eastern KY, Carter County in particular) are very religious. My 3xgreat grandfather, Robert, was a Methodist preacher, my 2xgreat grandfather, John P., was a lay leader, member of the church board and a Sunday school teached in the Methodist church. I am unsure of my great grandfather, but my grandfather Herbert, was a Methodist preacher ordained in 1922. Some of my earliest memories are of Church.
I have a wonderful document that my great aunt Kate wrote about the Homelife of my great-great grandparents. It addresses the strong religious upbringing specifically and even lists my 2xgreat grandfather's favorite hymn. If you like, send me your e-mail and I will forward you a copy, I think you will find it interesting.
Lots of luck, hope to hear from you again,
Travis
