I am compiling information about African American Birchett/Burchett/Burchette or Birchette families. I am particularly intersted in those who trace their family lines back to Virginia -- particularly Hopewell (once City Point) and Petersburg, and Brunswick County.

I am particularly interested in descendants of Africans held in bondage on the Birchett plantations. If you have any information, or are a descendant, I can be contacted at cbirchett@yahoo.com
