Several families of Burchards in Otsego county, town of Unadilla in 1830 census
(Ira, Nathaniel, Samual, and Joseph). Some of these families continue through 1850 census. My line appears to be via Ira's daughter Mary, his wife was Sally A. Family legend was that the Burchards were related to Ethan Allen through one of his sisters, no evidence of this found to date. Some thought at this time that the Burchards came to NY by way of Vermont. Naming of som of Ira's children seem to relate to a Dr. Adonijah Cone's family. (Nija, Daniel, Gilbert) who practiced in Unadilla area.
