I am looking for the first husband of Jemimah Burcham (b.1849 - 1895).He is George Runion/Runyon born 1844. Her parents are Katharine (Katie or Katy) L. Thompson and James Burcham. They came from Tennessee.
Jemimah married George Runion/Runyon in Jan 1869 and their first son David T. Runyon was born May 1869 Franklin County Arkansas. David T. Runion is my Great Grandfather. :)
George left sudden shortly after David T. was born according to my grandmother. She didn't know really where he was from. But according to Jemimah he got up on his horse one day and said he was going home. My mother's notes she took down before my grandmother died referred to him as Thomas Runyon and a cousin from Virginia Burcham's side has him as Thomas Runyan. Marriage records and census have him as George Runion and was from Tennessee.
Jemimah second husband was George Wheeler who had Dora and Cate.
I've search indefinetly for George as many different spellings of George Runion/Runyon/Runnion/Runyan as well as Thomas Runion/Runyon/Runnion/Runyan.
Even though it states Tennessee on the census records for him. I'm looking in other states. Since the Burchams came from Tennesee of Meigs, Rhea, Monroe and Blout & other Counties. I'm figuring the census guy just put Tennessee for everyone. George might have been running from something as well and wanted it hidden.
If anyone has any info even some tidbit information let me know.
