I have been trying to research my husband’s family for quite some time without any luck. My husband’s father’s name was Willie Albert Burcham. He was born Sept. 23, 1902 near Aileen, AR I believe. His parent’s names were Jim Burcham and Effie Walker. I believe that Jim Burcham had quite a bit of American Indian in his family tree. Effie Walker had strawberry blond hair – but I believe she also had some Indian heritage. Her niece was just recently inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame – I believe she played for a team called the Redheads. Willie Burcham had 4 sisters and 1 brother that I am aware of – the sisters were –Ollie, Opal, Ada and Minnie – his brother was Jimmy Burcham ( maybe James) Jimmy lived in Virginia at one time – My mother-in-law remembered him stopping by where she lived probably in the 70’s heading west. Willie was married to Zelma Earnest and had 13 children – my husband is the youngest of those children. I anyone has any info that might match with this I would be very interested in hearing about it.
