There was a John Bunting living in Rowan Co in Rowan Co (Salisbury) in 1750 re the book "Carolina Cradle." This family came down from NJ/PA and were descendants of Anthony 1600-1700 and Eleanor Barker Bunting of Derbyshire, England. President Johnson's line descended from these B. This group of Buntings lived about 40 miles from my William d. 1827 and Abigil Bunting who lived in Randolph Co (at one time Rowan) 4 mil NW of Asheboro. I need parents of my William. The middle name Hix has been used in this family for over two centures.
