Hello Jim,
My great gradmother was Agnes (Nancy) Bunton (b.about 1817-1889) who married Samuel Barr (1812-1889) in Lesmahagow, Lanarkshire on 24th January, 1836. They had 13 children:
Marion Bunton Barr b. 1837
Ann Barr b. 1838
William Barr b. 1840
Barbara barr b. 1842
James Bunton Barr b.1844
Agnes Barr b. 1846
Samuel Barr b.1848
Mary Barr b. 1849
John Barr b. 1852
Helen Barr b. 1855
Janet Barr b. 1857
Christina Barr b. 1858 (my grandmother)
Janet Barr b. 1860
They lived at the Burn Farm, Lesmahagow.
I would be interested to know if Agnes Bunton fits in with your family?
For your information there are four Bunton's listed in the 1851 Lesmahagow census living in three separate houses:
1. James Bunton Age 59 Born Lesmahagow
Margaret Bunton Age 54 Born Douglas
2. Thomas Bunton Age 42 Born Lesmahagow
3. Barbara Bunton Age 74 Born Douglas
