What part of KY did they come from? I have been trying to find some connection to Rebecca Buntin/Bunton who was born in Mercer, County KY in 1856 for ever. She married James Burgin 7-21-1875 in Anderson County. I was told she was Cherokee but someone in the Burgin Family said they always was told by an aunt in the family she was black. Now I'm not so sure. She definately was of dark skin . yet pictures show her with indian features far from black. Any dark skinned descendants in your line? Any thing would help at this point. Is there a male Buntin/Bunton that might have married an indian? Any help would be appreciated.
