Caroline Bunting Lee and her sister, Elizabeth Haines Lee, are mentioned in the 1897 will of their paternal grandmother, Jane Buck Lee of Bridgeton, Cumberland co., NJ. Their father, Charles S. Lee, had died before the time of the will.
The 1880 census shows him as a druggist living in Philadelphia, PA living with his wife Caroline, age 23, b. NJ, and their eight-month-old daughter, Caroline B. Lee.
The 1900 census for Philadelphia lists Caroline B. Lee, widow, living with her two daughters.....Caroline B. and Elizabeth H., b. Sep 1881. Charles may have died about 1885, according to the date someone submitted to the IGI.
This is all I have on this branch of the Lee family. However, in addition to the will of their grandmother (maiden name Sheppard), I have information on the Lees and Sheppards taking them back many generations. Please contact me if you have information on the family of Charles and Caroline.
