My 6th grandfather was John Cowgill (Cougal) who was the son of Ralph and Ellen Stackhouse Cowgill. Ellen may have come to America from England on the ship "Welcome" with William Penn following the execution of her husband. Ralph had been an outspoken Quaker who was executed for his religious views. John Cowgill and three siblings arrived in America with Ellen in 1682 and they settled in what is now Bucks County, PA. John subsequently married Bridget Crossdale and they had four children. Following her death he married Rachel Bunting and they had five children. I have obtained this information from various sources, some of it documented and some of it not. I would appreciate any corrections or supplemenatary information, particularly anything concerning the Bunting connection.
