PORT HOPE
ALBERT E. BUNTING
Albert E. Bunting, 87, retired Detroit cigar manufacturer and boyhood resident of Port Hope, died Sunday afternoon in his home in Pleasant Ridge, a suburb of Detroit, after a brief illness.
Born in August, 1873, in Woodstock, Ont. Mr. Bunting came when a boy to Port Hope with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bunting. He went in 1890 to Detroit to engage in the tobacco business.
Mr. Bunting, formally president of the Santelmo Cigar Co., retired about 30 years ago.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Bunting; three sons, Grant, Elwood and Albert Bunting Jr. all of Detroit; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, two brothers, Leland Bunting, Port Huron, and Harold Bunting, Harbor Beach, four sisters, Mrs. Gardner E. Johnson, Alma, MI.;Mrs P.J.Ludington, Lansing, and Mrs. E.R. Blake and Mrs C.T.Milner of Taveres, Fla.
Funeral arraingements are incomplete.
