Can anyone help me. In Thatcham, Berkshire, England I've found a grave shared by my ancestor Richard Chalk and someone I know nothing about except the inscription on the grave: "Sacred to the memory of / EDWARD THOMPSON BUNELL / late of Cape coast Africa / who departed this life at Woodspeen / Feb 7th 1858 in the 29th year of his age // His sun is gone down while it is yet day / Thy will be done. / Also RICHARD CHALK / born April 1st 1839 died Nov 10th 1868 aged 29 years." Does anyone know anything about Edward Bunell? I have found that his death is incorrectly indexed in the GRO as if spelled BUX?ELL. It looks like BUXWELL but comes before BUXTON in the alphabetical list. But the gravestone certainly says BUNELL. Thanks Chris Lusby Taylor Notify Administrator about this message?
