david bunnell (1783-1855), a native of middle smithfield, monroe co,., pa. from wallpack, n.j.in 1805 and settled in in bethany, pa. on march 5, 1805, he married parthenia kellam (1786-1875 of palmyra, pike co., pa. and moved to bethany, wayne co. he was a blacksmith. member of the baptist church at bethany.he sold his land at bethany and purchased 750 acres with his sons, henry, pike, and john k. in dyberry in texas twp.both are buried at honesdale. children; rockwell, april 2, 1806, eleanor, 1807-1843, w/o isaac olmstead, eunice b. jan. 6, 1810 married brooks lavo of bethany, (1811-1872), zebulon montgomery pike( 1813-1856), charles f. (1815-1856), he lived in oxford, n.y., john kellam, jan. 14, 1817, sarah e., dec 11m 1820, w/o rev, gilbert bailey, of calif., david s., nov. 19, 1821 lived in phila., harriet a. may 21, 1824 died as young woman, abigail jane, oct. 9, 1826, married william stockdale of springfield, il.
henry bunnelll, 2nd son of david was born at bethany, oct. 7, 1811. in 1836 he married amanda page, at hartford,pa. he was member of the baptist ch. at honesdale, his wife died in 1853. children; david montgomery, louise priscilla, died age 20, george f., mary e. w/o romain bump of kansas, william h., calvin and amanda (1853-1880) w/o john bellamy
henry married 2nd in 1855, lydia a. schofield, who died in 1859, leaving children, judson willard and irving washington. he married 3rd, sept. 26, 1861 to mary a dau. of gershom bunnell (1804-1869) and anna bergstrasser, born in 1808. henry, father of gershom removed from middle smithfield in 1808. this henry bunnell, brother of david, who settled at bethany in 1804, and their ancestry may be futher written by thomas g. bunnell, editorof the n.j. herald at newtown, n.j. and published in the history of sussex co. mary bunnell was born in aug. 1834, and by her marriag to henry bunnell has childrn, edward, elme, william fletcher, ida belle, harry hortio and elory pike bunnell.
john kellam bunnell, 5th son of david and parthenia (kellam)bunnel was born at bethany, wayne co, jan 14, 1817, and was he youngest of 3 sons. he married in 1841, to ann s. d/o john and joanna (spetigue) bronscombe, who is a native of devonshire, england, near cornwall, born on new years day, 1823. john bronsombe (1790-1863), and his wf joanna spetigue (1788-1858) came with their family came to wayne co., from england in 1830.
