William H. Bunnell in MS 1839-40

Looking for information on William H. Bunnell, who was granted some 2000 acres in Winston and Noxubee counties MS in 1839-40, according to Bureau of Land Management records. Unable to find him in 1840 or 1850 MS census index, so may have been there short-term or even been absentee owner. Wondering if this is the same person as William Henry Bunnell, supposed to have been b. ab. 1807 in MD, d. 1851 in MD. The Maryland Bunnell was married to Permelia Amery, and their daughter Mary Jane Hill of Franklin County AL is my g-g-grandmother. Any information would be appreciated, and I would be glad to share what I have found. --Judy Gilbert
