Origins of Bunn name - maybe Irish??

I have an uncle Larry Anderson Bunn originally from Wilson N.C. who has been doing research on our family. He has found information leading us to 'Dunn' which because of misspelling on documents possibly turned into 'Bunn' and that we are Irish. I do not have any documentation, just word of mouth unfortunately. I remember some of the names of our relatives and Levi Bunn was one of them. Any 'Bunns' out there have any documentation to back up this lead? I believe this information came from the Mormon church.
My family: grandparents - Willie & Pearl Bunn, Father - Ben Hersel Bunn, Uncles - Larry Anderson and Archie Bunn, Aunts - Vicky and Doris Bunn. All of Wilson,N.C. That is all I have right now.
