Don't know if this will be of assistance, however, thought I would bring it to your attention. There is a book in the Braswell Library in Rocky Mount, NC, titled "Nash County, NC, Division of Estate Slaves and Cohabitation Record, 1862-1866." Saw it while researching the BUNNS. The following is a sample of one of the entries in that book.

"On this 26th day of August personally appeared before me R. D. Wells, a Justice of the Peace in and for said County, Odom BUNN and Harriett Davis, formerly slaves now emancipated and acknowledged that they have cohabited a man and wife for 20 years." There were 4 other former slaves listed with the surname BUNN: Washington, Rhody, Lewis and Rowena. Incidentally, Redmun BUNN was the Justice of Peace on the Washington BUNN entry.

In that I was not researching the Arrington line, do not know if any were listed therein. Perhaps someone in the Rocky Mount area could do a lookup for you.
