My name is Donald Eugene Bunn, son of Gerald Clifton Bunn, grandson of Ernest Anbrose Bunn, greatgrandson of William Bunn, and great-greadgrandson of Jeremiah Bunn. I was born in Chicago on Jan. 16, 1937, my father was born in Chicago on May 7, 1895, my grandfather was born in Marion County, Ohio Sept. 1864, my greatgrandfather was born in Virginia 1832, & Jeremiah Bunn was born in Sussex County Virginia 1775. All of my ancestors are all very light skinned mulattos who married other light skinned women so their off spring are light, bright, and almost white.
My father was a city employee in Chicago, a graduate of Northwestern University, and a 1st lieutenant in world war one (379th all black infantry unit)and saw action in France. His father worked as a Pulman Porter based in Chicago who retired after 43 years of service in 1934. His father fought in the Civil war, 10th Calgery, Ohio, and died of typhoid in December 1864. His father, Jeremiah was a farmer who is buried at Chain Lake Baptist Church cemetery in Calvin township, Michigan. The cemetery is a registered historical site because the area was know as the last stop on the underground railroad for slaves excaping to Canada.
Perhaps we are related. Ain't geneology fun!
