James Carrolton Bunker & Elizabeth Rebecca Pennock had 6 children. Eliza R. Feronia M. Jane, Ledyard Cuyler, Joseph Alexander & Myraette. Eliza R. Bunker b. 28 Apr. 1812, Cayuga Co., NY, d 18 Nov. 1903; m. 15 Oct. 1828, NY, William Hadley Vaughan (sometimes spelled Vaughn), b. 1 Aug 1796, VT; d. 2 Mar 1870 Cherry Valley, Boone Co., Illinois. Founding member of the M. E. Church. both are buried at Flora Cemetery, Flora Twsp, Boone Co., IL. Large stone listing: VAUGHAN (It IS spelled VAUGHAN on the stone) with W. H., his wife, Eliza, and "Eliza Pinnock" (Pennock) who was Eliza's mother. James C. Bunker has a separate, much older and very elaborate stone, nearby with other BUNKER stones that only have the surname etched on them. William H. Vaughan is listed as a J.P. 1846-1847 Boone Co. IL William H. Vaughan and "Betsey" Bunker lived in Galen, Wayne Co., NY in 1830. Mentioned in deeds for land in Fleming, NY owned by the Pennock family. All land records were to settle an estate. Fleming formed from Aurelius in 1823. Ledyard Cuyler Bunker, a son of James C. Bunker & Elizabeth Pennock, lived in Indiana. He says, in an article published in Indiana history, that his parents owned a hotel in the Aurelius area & often held transactions with the Indians in the area. James C. Bunker lived with a daughter in Illinois and his wife lived with their son, Ledyard, in Indiana. Both are buried at Flora cemetery. Ledyard married Elvira Alden and all the Bunker connections seem to have gone astray and no connection between James Carrolton Bunker and any Bunker line in Colonial America has been discovered yet.
