St. Charles (Illinois) Review, Oct. 11, 1878 Obituary Died at Geneva, Oct. 8th, 1878, Mr. Edward Bunker, after a long and painful illness. Mr. B. was a native of Hudson, Columbia county, N.Y. He was born March 25th, 1813, and was in his 66th year at the time of his death. He came to Chicago in November, 1836. On the 11th of May, 1837, he was married to my youngest sister, Maria A. Howard. The marriage was celebrated at St. Charles, in the house where N.T. Roche now lives. In 1838, Mr. B. returned to his native town. In 1841 he came back and located in St. Charles, and built the house where Jairus Brown now lives. In 1844 he moved to Geneva and engaged with the writer and others, in building the stone mill on the west side of the river at that place, and has resided there since that time. Mr. B. leaves a wife and four children to mourn his loss, whose names and residences are as follows: Charles H., Amboy, Ill.; Frank, Geneva; Homer, Elgin; and Mrs. Ida Gill, at Rockford. Thus another of the old settlers of Kane county has gone. May he rest in peace. Leonard Howard ------- I am not related to nor researching this family and have no further information.
